Album of the Week|Broken Into Better Shape

As a quick side note- I started classes last week, and I am taking 14 hours, and I also just had my first day of training at my new job, where I will be working 20-25ish hours a week. On top of that, I also have a pretty special boy thing in my life, who requires lots of attention and cuddle time (as do I). It goes without saying that my life got really busy out of nowhere! One of my goals for this month is to be more consistent with blogging, so my hope is that whenever i have free time, I can write a couple different posts, and just publish them a couple days apart, and we’ll see how that goes.

But I decided to try and introduce a weekly (hopefully) series to my blog- Album of the Week!

My first installment of my Album of the Week series is… Broken Into Better Shape by Good Old War!

I’ve been listening to these guys for years now, and they came out with this new album a couple months ago. It’s fun, it’s upbeat, awesome, relatable lyrics, and their older stuff has a little bit of a folksy feel to it. I have been listening to it non stop lately!

My favorite song on the album is probably Broken Into Better Shape, itself. It has such an amazing message- basically, don’t ever give up because even if you break you’ll come back stronger. It’s a mantra that resonated with me, and that I try and remind myself of daily. Whenever I’m feeling a little down, or looking for some emotional motivation, I turn to this song!

I love all the songs on this album though, so definitely check it out! I also love their older stuff, so I recommend that as well!

Good Old War was also just on tour- it may or may not be over now, I’m not sure- and I got to see them play here in Houston with a few friends. They were awesome! Dan, Tom and Keith had awesome stage presence, and they all seem like really nice, silly guys! For the encore, they came right onto the floor and played a few songs acoustic, literally just inches away from the crowd encircling them.

And that’s it for my first Album of the Week installment. What do y’all think?
